[molpro-user] Parse file error on Itanium

Dear Molpro users
I am trying to install molpro 2002.6 on a dual Itanium2 machine
with Red Hat Enterprise AS 3.0 and using Intel fortran compiler 8.0.
The IA64ROOT variable was set to point to the appropriate directory
and I run the configure script as ./configure -efc -i8 but I got the
following message

Cannot link with any objects !
This architecture or combination of architecture and integer
size is proably not supported. Sorry ....

which seems to be a parse file problem. Checking the molpro mail-list
I saw that this problem has been reported once before but there have
been
no satisfactory answer to the problem.
